Anna Sorbello
Painter
Born in Catania in 1961, she follows in her grandfather Gaetano Caruso's footsteps, a daring exponent of the verist movement of the mid '900. However, she chooses to proceed with classical and literary studies and only begins to pursue painting at a mature age, favoring the representation of the human figure and the use of color. Meetings with various artists of the contemporary cultural context, through expositions and authors' retrospectives, help her thrive in a stimulating context; leading her to participate in exhibitions and video expositions both in Italy and abroad. Today she works as a teacher in the field of language arts and she makes an effort to promote creative and educational workshop activities for her pupils, whether through organizing painting exhibitions or events for the protection of local artistic heritage.
